Shop My Lumber.com is a site created by Widgeon River, LLC where homeowners and contractors can publish a list of lumber and building materials they need. Local Trusted Vendors in your area compete to supply the materials.
Shop My Lumber.com is your tool to finding the best price for materials in your area. No project is too large or too small. Our goal is helping you get the best price, while supporting local businesses in your area.
What is a Trusted Vendor?
A Trusted Vendor is a retail lumber yard or building supply center within your area that has been approved as a member of the Widgeon River network. These are Widgeon River’s Tier 3 members.
Why should I use Shop My Lumber.com?
The key benefit of Shop My Lumber.com is the vast number of businesses and Trusted Vendors that make up the Widgeon River network. Lumber yards and building supply centers compete for your business without you having to contact each location and shop the price. These businesses know that a list submitted by Widgeon River is also being quoted by multiple Trusted Vendors, and they will use their best pricing to get the job.
Our network of Trusted Vendors is comprised of local businesses you are familiar with, as well as those you may not have known about. An example is the number of members who are unaware that they are within the service umbrella of various independent and retail building centers. One of these building centers may be miles from your location, but willing to deliver the material you need for 20% less than another business two miles away.
We help create an opportunity between that business and you.
General Contractors
General contractors are Tier 4 members. You must fill out a few additional questions during your initial registration and have your account approved. Upon approval of your account, you will be entitled to greater discounts as a Tier 4 member.
Why do you charge a deposit?
There is a $10 deposit per listing. You may include as many or as few items as you like in a listing.
Quoting material for any project is very time consuming and labor intensive. We charge a deposit to screen out members who are just “price shopping” quotes, and to help our Trusted Vendors focus on legitimate inquiries.
The $10 will be deducted from your subtotal at check out, following your selection of a quote and purchase your list through Shop My Lumber.com.
How it Works
All identities of the parties involved will remain anonymous until the material is delivered or picked-up.
- Register/Login to Widgeon River.com
- On My Member Page, under Shop My Lumber, click on My Lists—Add and follow the steps
- Fill out your job location information
- Add items
- Review your list
- Pay the deposit
- Get your list quoted
- Review the quotes
- Select & Purchase a quote (your deposit will be refunded to you)
- Instructions for delivery or pick-up will be sent to you and the Trusted Vendor
- After the material has been received, login and “release” the funds to the Trusted Vendor
